Runs were scored in bunches for the Armada in the first, third and seventh innings tonight. Another great performance from Jonathan Figueroa and the Armada bullpen gave them the first win in the four game series between these two at Blair Field. Edmonton would score two in the ninth to try a comeback, but could not as they fell 10-4. Long Beach extends their winning streak to three and Edmonton continues their losing streak at three.
1B Norm Hutchins (pictured left) started the scoring with a two run HR off of Ricardo Rodriguez in the first. Hutchins would drive in another in the third after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Norm would finish 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and two runs scored. LF Dan "Double" Trumble would double in two runs in the third inning. Trumble would hit a solo HR over the left field wall in the seventh. Trumble finished 2 for 5 with 3 RBI and two runs scored. C Octavio Martinez would add a solo HR in the fifth. 3B Michael Glomb went 2 for 4 driving in two, one in the third and the other in the seventh. Five runs scored in that third inning for the Fleet.

Nick Bierbrodt pitched 2 innings in relief giving up 2 hits and striking out 1. Justin Segal pitched the eighth and ninth giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 1.
Edmonton starter Ricardo Rodriguez (3-1) got his first loss of the season going 5 innings giving up 8 runs on 10 hits, walking 2 and striking out 2. Edmonton got two of there four runs in the ninth thanks to 1B Joe Jiannetti and CF Chris Van Rossum who would each get base hit RBI singles. Van Rossum would also launch a solo HR of the right field scoreboard in the fourth. Van Rossum finished 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
Probable starter tomorrow for Edmonton Nick Peterson (2-4) and for Long Beach Andrew Layfield (0-3). Game time is at 7:05pm.
