Armada fall to Scorpions 2-0

The Armada suffered a 2-0 loss to the Yuma Scorpions at Blair Field. The Armada currently have a 14-16 record in the GBL South Division.

Ben Fox pitched a great game, only giving up two runs, and striking out seven, in nine innings of work.

The Armada struggled offensively most of the night against the Scorpions . In the 6th inning, Diover Avila was moved to third base with a bunt from Balcazar, then Rivadeneria brought him in with a base hit . That gave the Scorpions a 2-0 lead at the end of the sixth . The Armada just couldn't get the runs in this ball game tonight.

Hideki Irabu will take the mound for the Armada tomorrow. Irabu is 4-0 for the season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. If you haven't experienced an Armada game live this season, be sure to make it out to Blair Field tomorrow for IRABUMANIA.

great games are the ones you WIN not LOSE

Mr "A" NOT all wins are "Great" and some losses are not bad losses. Don't know if you were actually at the game or not. I was and, I saw a very well played game from both teams. The only negative I got from the game is that the boys lost 2-0.
Possitives...plenty.
1. Ben fox pitched one hell of a game. Pitching a complete game, stiking out 7 (5 of them swinging).
2. That along with 8 innings pitched by Lima the night before means that the bullpen is not spent and is well rested.
3. The boys played really good defence. NO ERRORS!!!!

Yes they lost the game, but give them the credit they deserve and give the Yuma team credit also for not only pitching a good game, but also playing great defence and getting 2 runs on only 5 hits.
Not a bad game at all.
The boys won one game in which they had more errors than runs. Does that qualify as a "great" game? I say Not. Yes a win is always welcome whether it's pretty or not.
Again, not all wins are great and not every loss is a bad game.
See you at the park my friend.
