Reports are that Armada catcher David Parrish is having his contract bought out by the Colorado Rockies organization. He'll most likely be designated to AA Tulsa where he'll be the starting catcher, and he's got a solid chance to move up to AAA Colorado Springs.
Parrish is the 16th player from the Armada to have his contract bought out in the team's history. So far this season, he's batting .344 (11-for-32) with 3 HR and 13 RBI in 10 games. Parrish has also scored 11 runs for the Armada in 2008.
Manager Steve Yeager knew he would most likely have a catcher picked up early on, which is why the Armada kept three on the roster when the team broke camp. Octavio Martinez will step into the starting role, and David Ramirez will move up a spot on the depth chart.
