The offense stayed silent for most of the game at Blair Field. Long Beach couldn't get runners on base or score them in key situations. The Flyers bats were still crushing the ball in a 6-3 victory over the Armada to win the series and improve their record to 18-6. The Armada fall to an even .500 record at 12-12.
Flyer starter Jeremy Zick (3-2) pitched 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 1 to get his third win of the season. Relievers Ezequiel Ruvalcaba and Eric Sheridan combined for 2 innings giving up no hits walking 2 and striking out 1. Sheridan was credited with his second save of the season.
Jerome Williams (4-2) pitched 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 3. The reason why he only pitched four innings is because he had his contract bought by the Los Angeles Dodgers and will be sent to Single A San Bernardino. 3B Ryan Lehr hit a 2 run HR in the fourth inning and RF Chris Klemm drove in a run in the sixth.
Flyers DH Fernando Pacheco went 3 for 5 driving in a run in the fifth and a 2 run HR in the sixth. 3B Brian Rios and CF Patrick Breen each drove in a run to propel the Flyers to the series win over Long Beach.
Long Beach now takes a plane trip to Edmonton to take on the Cracker Cats and the Calgary Vipers June 24-29. You can listen to the road broadcasts on the Edmonton and Calgary affiliates. The links will be on longbeacharmada.com at the radio/on-air link. The next broadcast will be July 1 at Orange County on the Long Beach Armada Radio Network.
