Today's tryouts

Here's a few snap shots from today's open tryouts. Probably more on the way.
Watching some of the guys try to field from short and make the throw to first proved interesting.  Some of the players at the tryout really impressed Steve Yeager, and there's a good chance the number of players receiving an invitation to camp grew as a result.
At the same time, some of the other players were - um - not quite as qualified.  All in all, it was a good day.

Squirrels are cool :-)   Blair Field is "animal friendly"

What wasn't friendly was the pitching machine to the more than half-dozen wooden bats that shattered during BP.  Seven, yes seven, bats were cracked.  On the bright side, the Armada can now host "camp fire night" thanks to all the extra timber.

Good luck to everyone who came out for the tryouts.
