Yuma cuts into lead

The Scorpions were able to make a run of their own in the last inning, and cut the Armada lead to one run. Deivis Rivadeneira came home and scored off the RBI single from Carlos Arroyo. Arroyo picked up his 22nd RBI of the season. The Armada has two runs, three hits, and no errors. The Scorpions has one run, five hits, and one error.

Kaplan puts Fleet up 2-0

We are in the top of the sixth and the Armada find themselves up 2-0, thanks to the in park home run by Johnny Kaplan. If you followed the team last season it was Norm Hutchins who hit the last in park home run. That game was on September 3rd vs Orange County, so Kaplan making some history tonight.

Armada go up 1-0

The Armada picked up one run in the bottom of the third, and now have a 1-0 lead over Yuma. Brandon Howard advanced to first base, and then was able to go onto steal second. Jonny Kaplan with a base hit brought home the speedy Brandon Howard to score for the Armada. Kaplan picked up his fourteenth RBI of the season. The Armada has one run, two hits, and no errors. The Scorpions has no runs, three hits, and one error.

Armada vs Scorpions 7/30

Game three of this three game series the Armada look to go on the road with a two game winning streak. The Fleet played a great day yesterday, picking up 2-1 victory over the Scorpions on Kids Day. Dusty Gober picked up his second win of the season, and pitched a great game. He gave up just one run, and struck out nine, in 7.1 innings of work. Hideki Irabu gets the ball tonight, as he looks for his fifth win of the season.

Gober and Armada get the Victory

With the kids cheering on, the Armada get the victory, beating the Yuma Scorpions 2-1. Dusty Gober picks up his second win of the season, and the Fleet now have a 4-8 record in the second half, 24-26 overall.

Yuma would go up first with a two out RBI double from Reynaldo Rodriguez gave the Scorpions a 1-0 lead over the Armada.

It wouldn't take the Armada long to respond back as Josh Womack led off with a base hit and made it all the way to third base off a sacrifice bunt from Brandon Howard. The back to back double from Omar Bramasco brought in Josh Womack, and Jonny Kaplan to put the Armada up 2-1.

In the ninth inning the Scorpions tried to come back but Koichi Misawa closed out the game, and handed the Scorpions the loss.

The Fleet is back in action tomorrow as the Armada look to wrap up this series with a win. Hideki Irabu will get the ball. Were back to our regular schedule with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.

Segal replaces Gober

Top of the eighth and Dusty Gober is done for the afternoon, which brings in Justin Segal. Whats good about Segal is that he has the submarine like pitch, which has been working for him and the Armada this season. Gober pitched well today, giving up just one run, and striking out nine, in 7.1 innings of work.

Armada go up 2-1

We go into the seventh, and with the Campers going crazy for their Armada, the Fleet now has taken a 2-1 lead over the Scorpions. It started off with Josh Womack making a speedy run for home, and was able to score off the RBI form Jonny Kaplan. The score was all tied up. Then Kaplan came home and scored off the Double from Omar Bramasco to give the Fleet the 2-1 lead over Yuma. The Armada has two runs, six hits, and one error. The Scorpions has one run, seven hits, and no errors. The Armada game is the hottest ticket in town today fans.

We go into the bottom of the sixth and the Yuma Scorpions take a 1-0 lead over the Armada. Adolfo Gomez comes home and scores off the RBI single from Reynaldo Rodriguez. Rodriguez just picked up his 36th RBI of the season. Josh Womack is now up to bat, and he just advanced to first base. Lets see if the Fleet can make something happen in this inning. Brandon Howard is now up to bat. Some of you might be wondering why Brandon Howard is at third base today. Manager Garry Templeton made a change in his lineup, and moved Howard to third, and made Napolean Calzado the designated hitter. Josh Womack is now in scoring position at third base. Come on Jonny, bring Josh home.

We go into the top of the sixth, and still no score in this ball game. Dusty Gober now enters his sixth inning of work. He has given up no runs, and struck out six. Gober so far is having a good game. Lets hope that the Armada can back him up, and give him the win. The Armada has no runs, two hits, and no errors. Bottom of the fourth inning and the Armada and Scorpions are still scoreless. Lets hope that the noise from all of the campers here at Blair Field will help the Armada get some runs. Good Afternoon Armada fans for game two of this three game series. The Armada desperately need a victory today, as they look for revenge after a heartbreaking 6-3 loss to the Scorpions last night. The Armada tried to make a run in the ninth inning, but Emiliano Fruto closed out the game and handed the Armada the loss, and took game one. The Fleet have a 3-8 record in the second half of the GBL Season, 23-26 overall. Right handed pitcher Dusty Gober will get the ball, as he looks for his second win of the season. Armada bit by Scorpions

Scott Lonergan couldn't get the job done tonight, as the Armada loose 6-3. The Fleet are now 3-8 in the second half of the GBL season, 23-26 overall.

The Scorpions Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a single and moved to third base, off the Ismael Castro base hit. Diover Avila followed with a single to bring in Rodriguez to give Yuma a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the second Steve Moss lead off with a double and moved to third base on a single from Matt Edgecombe. Andy Bouchie hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at one.

Top of the third the Armada start to get into trouble when Reynaldo Rodriguez hit a three run home run to push the score to 4-1 Scorpions.

The Scorpions wanted to put the Armada away in the fourth as Diover Avila led off with a walk, and then Carlos Pupo doubled and brought in Avila. Then Deivis Rivadeniera brought in Pupo to extend their lead to 6-1.

Garry Templeton saw enough as he ended Lonergans night and brought in former Long Beach City College Viking Scott Watson, who pitched well in the relief of Lonergan. He allowed four hits, and struck out four.

The Armada would finally get a run in the eighth, as Josh Womack led off with a base hit, and stole second base. Omar Bramasco brought in Womack to cut the Yuma lead to 6-2.

Here come the Armada as Asif Shah singled and brought in Daryl Jones to cut the lead down to 6-3. Yuma manager Boris Villa saw enough as he replaced Javier Ortiz with Emiliano Fruto. The Armada tried to comeback in the bottom of the ninth but couldn't get it done.

Garry Templeton and the Armada will try to comeback tomorrow and pick up a victory to tie this series. Fans we have a 12:05 start tomorrow as we have Kids Day Out. Fleet cut into lead

We go into the top of the ninth, and the Armada finally able to pick up a run, as they cut the Scorpions lead to 6-2. Josh Womack comes home and scores off the RBI single form Omar Bramasco. Bramasco leads this Armada squad with 31 RBIs. The Armada has two runs, seven hits, and one error. The Scorpions has six runs, fourteen hits, and zero errors.

Bottom of the seventh and the Armada still trying to find a way to pick up some runs, in this ball game as they still trail the Yuma Scorpions 6-1. The Armada really need to do well in this series if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Fleet so far this season have played well against Yuma, but tonight everything is going the Scorpions way, as they may be on their way to victory. Asif Shah is now up to bat, but was retired, and the inning is over. Tonight is not the Fleets night. The Armada has one run, four hits, and one error. The Scorpions has six runs, twelve hits, and zero errors.

We go into the fifth inning and the Armada are really struggling, as the Yuma Scorpions are walking all over the Fleet, as they trail 6-1. The Armada started off the inning with a fantastic 5-4-3 play for out number one. Yuma then responded with back to back runs when Diover Avila scored off the Double from Carlos Pupo. The score was 5-1. Yuma was not done as Carlos Pupo scored off the RBI Single from Deivis Rivadeneira, giving Yuma a 6-1 lead. Manager Boris Villa must be pleased with the way the Scorpions are playing. Skipper Garry Templeton is not pleased with the way his ball club is playing. With two outs in the top of the fourth Templeton ended Scott Lonergans night, replacing him with Scott Watson. The Armada has one run, three hits, and one error. The Scorpions has six runs, ten hits, and zero errors.

Bottom of the third and what an inning that was for the Scorpions as Reynaldo Rodriguez came through for his team with a three home run that brought in Carlos Villalobos, Carlos Arroyo, followed by Reynaldo Rodriguez. The Armada now need to play catch up, and find some runs to get back in this ball game. The Armada has one run, three hits, and one error. The Scorpions has four runs, seven hits, and zero errors. Dan Luyben just struck out so that brings up Omar Bramasco. Come on Omar, we need some runs.

We go into the third and we have a tie ball game, as Steve Moss was able to come home and score off the Sacrifice fly. The Armada has one run, two hits, and one error. The Scorpions has one run, three hits, and zero errors.

Welcome back Armada fans, as the Armada look to get back to their winning ways, as they host the visiting Yuma Scorpions in a three game series. The Armada currently have a record of 3-7 in the second half of the GBL season, 23-25 overall. The Yuma Scorpions have a record of 5-10 in the second half, 15-37 overall. He is also a Long Beach native, so it will be a home coming for Luyben.

St. George takes series 2-1

Ben Fox pitched a terrific game, but picked up his fifth loss as the Armada fall to the St. George Road Runners 2-0, and loose this series 2-1. The Fleet is now 3-7 in the second half of the GBL season.

St. George was on top of the Armada in the third inning, when Henry Calderon hit a double and was able to move to third base after a sacrifice bunt. Rudy Yan singled up to the middle to give the Road Runners a 1-0 lead.

St. George scored again in the fifth inning when Calderon once again came through for his team when he was brought in off the RBI single from Yosvany Almario. That gave the Road Runners a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the ninth the Armada looked to see if they could get a miracle, but David Seccombe was too much for the Fleet tonight, as he closed the game giving the Fleet the loss.

The Armada will have the weekend off to regroup and come prepared for the Yuma Scorpions on Tuesday right here at Blair Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Have a good weekend Armada fans, and hope to see everyone out at Blair Field on Tuesday.

Segal replaces Fox

We go into the ninth and the Armada need a miracle as they still trail the Road Runners 2-0. Fox tonight will pick up the loss, as he finishes tonight giving up four runs, and striking out eight, in eight innings of work. Segal this season has appeared in eighteen games, giving up four runs, three walks, and striking out seventeen, in 23 innings of work. The Armada has zero runs, two hits, and zero errors. Lima leads Armada to Victory

It defiantly was LIMA TIME tonight at Blair Field as Jose Lima helped lead the Armada squad to a 5-1 victory over the St. George Road Runners. Fans gave Lima a standing ovation as he walked off the field. The Fleet is now 3-6 in the second half of the GBL season.

Bottom of the second Steve Moss started off with a walk. Then Asif Shah followed with a base hit, and Daryl Jones walked to load the bases. Matt Edgecombe hit a single to bring in Moss and Shah to give the Armada a 2-0 lead. Howard hit a single of his own to load the bases. Jonny kaplan hit a ball deep to bring in Jones to give the fleet a 3-0 lead.

The Armada wasn't done when Calzado and Bouchie singled to put runners on base. Asif Shah hit a sacrifice fly to bring in a team member to push the lead to 4-0.

Bottom of the fourth Omar Bramasco hit a shot to bring in Brandon Howard to give the Armada a 5-0 lead.

St. George tried to make something happen when they had back to back singles to put themselves on the board with one run.

Jose finished the night giving up only one run, and striking out six, in eight innings of work.

The Armada meet the Road Runners again tomorrow. First pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm. Hope to see everyone out at Blair Field as the Armada look for their fourth win of the second half.

Tacker takes the Mound

Ryne Tacker will get the ball as we go into the ninth, as the Armada could be on their way to victory hanging onto a 5-1 lead over St. George. Like I said in the last post Jose Lima shined for his team tonight. He gave up only one run, and struck out six, in eight innings of work. Tacker this season has appeared in eighteen games, and struck out seventeen, in fifteen innings. Fasten your seat belts fans, were going down to the wire.

We go into the bottom of the eighth, and the Road Runners finally find themselves on the board, but the Armada still hang onto a 5-1 lead. Center fielder Ryan Stevenson came home and scored off the RBI from AJ Valentine. Jose Lima is having a phenomenal night. I hope their are some scouts here watching Jose pitch, he defiantly is shining tonight. The Armada has five runs, six hits, and zero errors. The Road Runners has one runs, seven hits, and two errors.

We go into the sixth and it is all Armada as they are on top of the Road Runners 5-0. Brandon Howard singled to first base, and then with Bramasco up to bat Howard went onto steal second. Howard then advanced to third off the E-1. Finally Bramasco advanced to third and Howard was able to make it home to give the Armada a 5-0 lead. The Fleet need to hang onto this lead and not let St. George catch up. They desperately need this victory to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. The Armada has five runs, six hits, and zero errors. The Road Runners has zero errors, two hits, and two errors.

Jose Lima and the Armada are playing great baseball tonight as they are up early with a 4-0 lead. Bottom of the third Napolean Calzado scored off the RBI form Asif Shah. Shah is now in the books with his first RBI of the season. This is the night you want to be out at Blair Field watching Jose Lima pitch, as he has not allowed St. George to gain any runs. The Armada has four runs, five hits, and zero errors. The Road Runners has zero runs, two hits, and zero errors.

Game two of this three game series and the Armada look tonight to tie this series, and end a two game losing streak. Last night both teams played great baseball, but in the beginning the Fleet went up 2-0, but the Road Runners responded tieing the game, and thanks to the double deep into left field by Rodriguez it allowed Cody Nowlin to come in and score giving St. George a 3-2 lead. The Fleet tried to make a comeback but pitcher Bartolome Fortunato closed out the game, handing the Armada the loss. Former Major Leaguer Jose Lima will be taking the mound for the Fleet, as he looks for his fifth win of the season. Stay tuned fans, game two is coming your way. Armada fall to Road Runners 3-2

Hideki Irabu tied a season high with nine strikeouts but the Fleet fall to St. George 3-2 and let game one slip away. The Armada have now lost their second consecutive game, and now fall to 2-6 in the second half of the GBL season.

Long Beach came out in front with Calzado stealing second base and advancing to third off a bad throw from Rodriguez. Andy Bouchie hit a base hit allowing Calzado to come home and score, giving the Armada a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the third back to back singles form Brandon Howard and Josh Womack put runners on first and second base. A deep fly ball from Napolean Calzado brought in Brandon Howard to give the fleet a 2-0 lead.

St. George would respond when Cody Nowlin was walked and Angel Sanchez was hit by the pitch to put runners on base. A sacrifice fly and bunt allowed Cody Nowlin to come home and score, to cut the Armada lead to 2-1.

St. George was not done, in the bottom of the sixth innning Rudy Yan singled, and Hideki Irabu balked which allowed Yan to move to second. Then Rodriguez doubled to left field and brought in yan to tie the ball game at two. Then Cody Nowlin singled in to give the Road Runners their first lead of the night 3-2.

The Armada tried to recover but Bartolome Fortunato closed the game to give the Armada the loss.

Irabu injured

Hideki Irabu suffered a slight injury which ended his night in the bottom of the sixth inning. He suffered a left hamstring injury after a wild pitch. Irabu seems fine, and it doesn't look serious at all.

IRABUMANIA update

We go into the top of the sixth inning and the Armada now trail St. George 3-2. Hideki Irabu is entering his sixth inning of work, and playing great baseball, allowing only one run, and struck out nine. Irabu only needs to strike out three more batters to tie the Armada franchise record of twelve strikeouts. That was made by pitcher Nick Beierbeodt. Lets see if Skipper Garry Templton lets Hideki pitch a couple more innings to try to aim for that record.

Armada trail 3-2 in the fifteenth

We go into the bottom of the fifteenth, and the Armada now trail by one run. Lyndon Poole scores off the double from Dylan Parzyk. Lets see if the Armada can tie this game or try to escape with a win, after fifteen long innings. The Armada has two runs, eight hits, and zero errors. The Toros has three runs, eight hits, and zero errors.

We go into the eleventh inning and the Armada and the Toros are still tied at two. It has been a tie ball game since the fourth inning. New pitcher Justin Segal will replace Scott Watson. Watson played well, giving up one walk, one run, and striking out three, in four innings of work. The Armada has two runs, six hits, and zero errors. The Toros has two runs, five hits, and zero errors.

Bottom of the fourth and this ball game is tied at two. It all started with Lino Garcia scoring off the RBI from Dustin Yount, the score is 2-1. Top of the ninth, and it looks like the Armada have picked up their second win of the second half of the GBL season. Right handed pitcher Ryne Tacker will take the mound. Jones replaces Misawa

We go into the top of the fourth, and what an inning that was as the Armada was able to score five runs in the bottom of the fourth to give them a 6-2 lead over the Toros. It started off with Omar Bramasco, and Steve Young scoring off the Triple from Napolean Calzado, the score was cut to 3-2. Calzado just picked up his twelth RBI of the season. Then Calzado scored off the RBI single from Andy Bouchie, the score was cut to 4-2. Then Andy Bouchie scored off the RBI single from Daryl Jones, the score was cut to 5-2. Finally Matt Edgecombe made a run for home off the E-6 from Ryan Priddy to give the Armada a 6-2 lead. The Armada are playing good Baseball Tonight. Game three of this four game series, the Armada fell last night to the Toros 6-3. Bottom of the fourth the Armada was down 5-0. We all thought the game could be over, but thanks to the two run home run by Omar Bramasco the Fleet were only down by two runs. The Armada tried to make a comeback and win the ball game, but the Toros were able to find runs late in the ball game, and escape with the victory. The right handed pitcher Scott Lonergan will take the mound tonight, as he has a record of 3-3, and will look for his fourth win of the season. LB Wins 7-5

The Long Beach Armada go onto beat the Chico Outlaws 7-5, and win this series 3-1. In his second start, Dustin Gober picks up the win, giving up only three runs, and striking out three, in six innings.

Kaplan tripled out to left field for Bramasco. Bramasco then hit a ball to third, which allowed the Kaplan to come to score. At the end of the first, the Armada was up 1-0

In the second, Napolean Calzado Napoleon Calzado led a hit before stealing second base for just his second steal of the year. Daryl Jones grounded out to second to move Napolean to third. Then Andy Bouchie hit a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

The Outlaws were able to come back when Matt DeJesus hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Crosland from third base to make it 2-1.

In the fourth inning Andy Bouchie hit a home run, his fourth of the season to make it 3-1. Casey Garrison and Steve Young put runners on the corners with one out. SteveYoung stole second base and Josh Womack went down swinging to put runners on second and third base with two outs . Jonny Kaplan came through with a double to push the lead to 5-1. Omar Bramasco then followed through with another double to make it 6-1 at the end of the fourth.

In the fifth Chico wasn't going to let the Fleet slip away as Dale Swinford and Rich Janeway hit back-to-back singles to start off . Cronin then hit a ball to deep right field to move runners up into scoring position. Shane Crosland brought in both runners in to cut the lead to 6-3.

Birosik came in for Dustin Gober as Rich Janeway singled out to second when Kaplan had a mishandle of the ball in right field. Birosik got the next two hitters out, but Ryan Brown hit a two-run home run to bring the score to 7-5.

In the ninth, Justin Segal came into the ball game, and shut out the Chico Outlaws. The Armada now improve to 20-18 for the season. Joins us tomorrow as the Armada host the Tucson Toros for a weekend series. It's LIMA TIME once again.

Top of the ninth the Armada still lead 7-5 over the Outlaws. Justin Segal will take the mound, as Sean Buller pitched great, allowing only one hit, one walk, and striking out three in one inning. Armada fans showing their generosity by tipping Buller for allowing no runs in the eighth. Segal this season is 0-1, giving up only one walk, and striking out twelve, in seventeen innings.

The Armada has been playing great ball tonight as they have a four run lead over Chico. Casey Garrison came home and scored off Josh Womack runs, nine hits, and zero errrs. Manager Garry Templeton makes a pitching change, as Dustin Birosik will replace Dustin Gober. It looks like Gober will pick up his first win of the Season. Birosik this season has only allowed four walks, and struck out four, in seven innings of work. The Armada has seven runs, nine hits, and one error.

Outlaws score two runs

The Outlaws were able to respond with two runs of their own, to cut into the Armada. Dale Swinford scored off Jason Crosland to bring the score to 2-6, then Rich Janeway returned the favor scoring off Ryan Brown, to bring the lead sown to 3-6.

Armada score four runs to end fourth

Wow, what an amazing inning by the Fleet, as they were able to score four runs to end the fourth inning. It was led off by the Home Run by Andy Bouchie. The home run was being questioned by the umpires, but the home run will count. So the score is 3-1. Bouchie picked up his fourth home run of the season. The double from Jonny Kaplan allowed Steve Young, and Casey Garrison to score, and put the Armada up 5-1. Kaplan picked up his tenth RBI of the season. Kaplan then comes home and scores off Omar Bramasco to put the Armada up 6-1 going into the fifth. The Armada has six runs, seven hits, and zero errors.

Bottom of the fourth the Chico Outlaws have cut into the Armada lead, and are now on the board. Jason Crosland scores off the hit from Matt DeJesus. The Armada only have a one run lead. The Fleet has two runs, three hits, zero errors.

Buller helps fleet get victory

The long Beach Armada win a hard fought game versus the Chico Outlaws, as the Fleet even out the series 1-1. The Armada go onto win 10-8, and they now improve to 19-18 in the GBL South Division.

Chico got on the board early in the first with Dale Swingford leading off with a a base hit before moving over to second base on a bunt from Dan Luyben. After a fly out and a walk, Truan Mehl brought in Swinford with an RBI single to make it 1-0 .

DeJesus misplayed a Womack grounder that allowed him to reach base, then he stole second on to Bramasco. Omar grounded a ball through the legs of Ash to allow Josh Womack to advance to third base. Runners were now on second and third base with no outs for Sherrill. Sherrill managed to ground out to shortstop to plate Womack and move Bramasco to third. The score was now 1-1. Edgecombe slapped a ball into right field , bringing in Bramasco from third base. The Armada was then up 2-1

Bouchie, Kaplan and Young all singled to load bases for Womack. Womack had a productive out, grounding out to second base allowing all runners to move up . This out brought in Bouchie from third to make it 3-1 Armada. On the first pitch Bramasco flied out to deep center, Bringing in Johnny Kaplan from third and moving SteveYoung to third base. The score is now 5- 1.

Bottom of the fourth, Steve Young and Josh Womack both walked to lead off and a Bramasco hit brought in another run to make it 7-4 .

The Chico Outlaws cut into the lead in the 6th inning when Swinford stole third base, and came in and scored on a sacrifice fly . The score is now 10-8 .

Sean Buller came in to face Jonny Ash. He induced a game-ending 6-3 double play picking up his third save of the season.

Armada lead cut to two runs

Top of the seventh the Outlaws were able to pick up one run in the top of the sixth to cut the Armada lead to 10-8. It's still any ones ball game. The Armada has ten runs, eleven hits, and four errors.

Fleet extend lead to three runs

The Armada extended their lead to 10-7 top of the sixth. Steve Young was able to come home and score off Omar Bramasco. Bramasco picked up his third RBI of the night. Rusty Jones replaces Scott Lonergan, as he finished up tonight striking out four, in five innings.

Armada regain lead

Top of the sixth, the fleet scored two runs to regain the lead 9-7. Andy Bouchie and Johnny Kaplan scored to give the Armada a two run lead. The Armada have nine runs, ten hits, and four errors.

Ball Game tied

Bottom of the fifth, the Outlaws were able to capalize and tie the ball game at seven. Shane Cronin and Truan Mehl came home and scored two easy runs for Chico. The Armada has seven runs, eight hits, and four errors. Both teams have committed four errors in this ball game.

Fleet score 1 run

Top of the fifth, the Fleet scored one run in the fourth, and are now lead the Outlaws 7-5. Steve Young slides home and scores off Omar Bramasco. The Armada has seven runs, eight hits, and two errors.

Armada score up 6-4

Top of the fourth, the Armada are up by two runs. Andy Bouchie came home and scored off Johnny Kaplan.

Fleet lead only by a run

Bottom of the third, the Armada were once up by four runs, but now find themselves up by only a run. Dale swinford scored off Dan Luyben, the lead was cut to 2-5. Then Rich Janeway and Dan Luyben were able to come home and score off Shane Cronin. It looked like the Armada was in trouble as Matt DeJesus hit a fly ball into left field, but Casey Garrison with an impressive dive was able to catch the ball to end the inning. The Armada has five runs, six hits, and two errors.

Armada on Fire!!! up 5-1

Top of the third the Armada scored three runs in the bottom of the second, and now have a 5-1 lead over the Outlaws. Andy Bouchie scores off Josh Womack, the Armada go up 3-1, then Johnny Kaplan scores off Omar Bramasco, the Armada go up 4-1, then Steve young comes home and scores off Casey Garrison to give the Armada a 5-1 lead over Chico. The Armada has five runs, five hits, and zero errors.

Armada score two runs to take lead

The Armada score two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead over the Outlaws. Josh Womack scores off the J.J. Sherrill hit. The Armada tie the game 1-1. Then Omar Bramasco was brought home to score off the Matt Edgecombe hit. The Armada go up 2-1. J.J. Sherrill left the game with an injury, so Casey Garrison will be his replacement. The Armada has two runs, one hit, and zero errors.

Outlaws up 1-0

Bottom of the first inning, the Outlaws go up 1-0. Dale Swinford comes home and scores off the Truan Mehl hit. Josh Womack will be up to bat.

Armada vs Outlaws 7/8

Game two of this three game series, the Armada look to bounce back after falling to Chico last night 5-4. The Fleet fought back in the fourth inning after being down 4-1, but it wasn't enough to escape with the victory. Lets see if the Armada can win tonight and tie the series 1-1. Scott Lonergan will be taking the mound, as he is looks for his third win of the season.

Outlaws beat Armada 5-4

Tonight Hideki Irabu Tied a season high for strikeouts in a game with nine, but picked up his first loss of the season, as the Chico Outlaws go onto beat the Armada 5-4. The Fleet now have a record of 18-18 in the GBL South Division.

The Armada got off to a rough start in the ball game, as the first three batters for the Outlaws came scored early for Chico, giving them a 3-0 lead. Blake Gailen led off the game with a single before stealing second base. Luyben struck out, but was able to reach first base on a wild pitch, and an error on Bouchie. Gailen advanced to third and the Outlaws had runners on base with no outs. Truan Mehl came through with a double to make it 1-0. A wild pitch brought in Luyben from third to make it 2-0, then Shane Cronin hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

The Fleet was able to pick up some runs in the second inning when Darly Jones started off with a single before advancing to second on a past ball. Andy Bouchie brought in DarylJones making it 3-1 game.

The Outlaws came back in the fourth when Shane Cronin started off with a home run to extend the lead to 4-1. Jason Crosland walked and stole second base before being brought in by a Johnny Ash single to make it 5-1 Chico lead.

The Armada started to climb their way back into the game when Daryl Jones Jones started off with a double and was brought in for the second time by Andy Bouchie to make it 5-2. Jonny Kaplan then followed to cut the lead to 5-3. Steve Young came through with an amazing single to bring in Johnny Kaplan with two outs to make it 5-4ball game. The Armada fought their way back into it but it wasn't enough to win the ball game tonight, as the fleet have lost their second game.

Armada still trail, Misawa replaces Buller

Top of the ninth, the Armada still trying to find a run, as they still trail the Outlaws 4-5. Sean Buller had a good night, throwing two innings, and striking out two. He is replaced by Koichi Misawa. This season Misawa is 2-1, giving up five walks, and striking out thirteen, in fifteen innings. The Armada has four runs, eight hits, and two errors.

Hideki Irabu is done for the night, as he only allowed three walks, and struck out nine, in six innings. Buller, this season has only allowed four runs, three walks, and struck out ten, in ten innings of work.

Top of the Sixth, Hideki Irabu is trying to complete his sixth inning of work. He has only allowed three walks, and struck out nine. The Armada has four runs, six hits, and two errors.

Armada trail by One Run

The Armada picked up three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Daryl Jones was able to come home and score off of the Bouchie hit, the score was 2-5. Andy Bouchie was able to come home and score off of the hit by Johnny Kaplan, that brought the score to 3-5. Thanks to the impressive hit by Steve Young, Johnny Kaplan was brought home to score for the Fleet. The Armada are only down by a run. The Fleet played a great inning, and find themselves back in this ball game. Daryl Jones is now up to bat.

Bottom of the fourth, the Armada are now down to the Outlaws 5-1. The Armada has one run, three hits, and two errors. The Fleet is starting to let this ball game slip away from them. Lets see if the Armada can find a way to dig themselves out and score some runs.

Top of the fourth, the Fleet still trail the Outlaws 3-1. Hideki Irabu is entering his fourth inning of work, as he has only allowed one walk, and struck out five. The Armada has 1 run, two hits, and one error.

Andy Bouchie hit a huge fly ball into center field which allowed Daryl Jones to come home and score. So the Armada finally get on the board, but are down 3-1 to the Outlaws. The Armada has one run, two hits, and one error.

The Armada come back after a three game road trip in Tucson over the Fourth of July weekend. The Fleet come into this series with a record of 18-17 in the GBL South Division. Hideki Irabu will be the Starting Pitcher for the Armada. It's Michael Jackson remembrance night at Blair Field.

ARMADA WIN!!!!

It took eleven innings for the Armada to beat the Yuma Scorpions 3-2. The Fleet now improve to 16-16 in the GBL South Division, and are now .500. This was the first extra-inning game of the year for the Long Beach Armada at Blair Field.

Top of the first, Scott Lonergan walked Carlos Arroyo, then Arroyo stole second and would score. Villalobos doubled to left center. The Scorpions scored first with a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the second, Daryl Jones doubled to deep left field with one out. Then with two outs Brandon Howard singled to second base, after a bobble from Castro, then Jones rounded to third. Jones kicked the ball out of the glove of Mosquera to tie the game up at 1-1.

Bottom of the fourth, Andy Bouchie hit at shot for a base hit. With runners on first and second, Womack came to the plate with two outs. A balk from Carlos Ladeuth brought in Kaplan to score and tie the game at 2-2.

Top of the eleventh, Josh Womack hit a shot into right field to bring in Bouchie. That allowed the Armada to beat the scorpions 3-2. The Armada win this series 3-1. This sure was an excellent ball game, and what a way to kick off fourth of July weekend. The fireworks display after the game was marvelous.

The Armada will now board the bus, and head off to play Tucson for a three game series. The Fleet will return back to Blair Field and will host the Chico Outlaws. The Armada and Scorpions still tied at two. We are now in the eleventh inning, with Koichi Misawa replacing Justin Segal. Segal finishes giving up only two hits, and striking out two, in three innings.

We are now in the tenth inning, with the score tied at two. The Armada has two runs, six hits, and two errors. Justin Segal is now in his third inning.

Top of the eighth, Scott Lonergan is replaced by Justin Segal. This season Segal is 0-1, giving up only three runs, one walk, and striking out nine, in eleven in a half innings. Lonergan had a solid game, giving up only two runs, one walk, and striking out five, in seven innings.

The Fleet have tied the ball game after a balk on Pitcher Carlos Ladeuth. That allowed Johnny Kaplan to walk home and score. The Armada has two runs, three hits, and two errors.
